Grade 9

This assignment is a cumulative assignment for the geometry unit in grade 9. It has a lot of proofs, some geometrical constructions and other trigonometry questions.

This is a test designed for one class period for grade 9 - chemistry unit.

Topics tested include:

classification of matter,
chemical vs. physical change,
periodic table (periods, groups, names of some of the families, metals and non-metals, etc.), including memorizing a few of the basic elements,
compounds - naming and classifying into ionic and molecular,
endothermic vs. exothermic reactions,
structure of the atom,
catalysts vs. inhibitors.

SOLUTIONS TO THE TEST ATTACHED

This 10 - 15 minute quiz has a question on trigonometry, exponents, polynomial recognition, factoring and a 3-d volume question.

This 10 - 15 min quiz has three "simplify" type questions on polynomials and three "factor completely" type questions of polynomials, trinomial quadratics.

This 10-15 minute quiz has four 3-D shapes, and the student is to find the surface area and volume of the objects. The objects are either prisms or pyramids, or derivatives of the above.

This 10 - 15 minute quiz has three trig questions, three algebra questions and one angle geometry question.

This 10-15 minute quiz is a general review of trigonometry, simplifying polynomials and solving algebraic equations.

This quiz has a question on many different things: reducing expression with exponents, FOIL (first, outside, inside, last), algebra, finding x, trigonometry, solving right triangles.

This 10 - 15 minute quiz consist of solving right triangles; all types of right triangles are included - sides missing, angles missing, all angles missing.

This 10 - 15 minute quiz has a question on drawing a triangle given its angles and the length of one of its sides, a couple algebra questions (as a review) and creating a perpendicular bisector.
