Some Great Sites For Young Kids

Here are some free sites my kids really like to go on. Some are just stupid games, but others are educational and worthwhile. I saved these for them in the "favorites bar" so they can just click on the one they want at the given moment.

Poisson Rouge: The best free kids website out there! I love this site, and so do my kids. And it's updated periodically, so a great place to come back to over and over again. Lots of choice and really easy to navigate. And the best part is that there's no ads! So the kids can't make a mistake and click on an ad by accident.

Up to Ten: Great choice, and really great for the musical games / activities like dancing and instruments.

Nick Junior: This of course has all the well known TV cartoons games and videos (like Dora, Diego, etc). I don't like this site as much, but my kids like to go there. They sometimes get mesmerized with the videos, so I tell the kids they can't watch them. But there are some cool games and activities they can do.

PBS Kids: Similar to Nick Jr. but I like this one a bit more. I don't think there are videos on this one, and it has a lot of different options / different shows to choose from. Curious George and Caillou are two of my favorite ones. Also there's Sesame Street and a ton of other "shows" to choose from. All fun and educational activities.

Kids CBC: Again a lot of choice and based on the cartoons played on CBC (a Canadian public television). My kids really like this one also and I like it too as it has a lot of good content.

Pencil Kids: These are great point and click puzzles for kids. I myself really like "Escape the room" puzzles, but these are sometimes to complicated for my small children - but the puzzles from Pencil Kids are the children version of "Escape the room" puzzles. Only downside is the amount of ads! But I guess they have to make their money somehow. The monkey and the dog ones are the two puzzles I like the best.

Oiseaux Net (Birds): My son is obsessed with birds right now, and this is the best site for him. He loves to go and search / learn about birds of the world. It's like a $40 guide book on birds, but free online. Although it's based out of France, there's a translated version into English (and I think Hungarian). No ads, just pure gold. My son really really spends a lot of his computer time on this site. But it's only for the bird lover I guess.

Disney Junior: This site has Disney Based characters / activities. Since I love Mickey Mouse and Disney in general, I'm a fan. But this site is not my first choice for sure. Lot's of ads and the content is not all that great. All my kids love it though.
